The ‘d’ word

To many small businesses the unfamiliar and unknow world that is DIGITAL can be commonly misconceived as not necessary or something that did not/could not affect their business enough to warrant diving into the deep end.

Well, BC (before Covid) those of you who did dive in and are surviving will understand that one thing this pandemic has taught us is that your online presence is so important.

Your business can stay open 24/7, you and your customers are safe and most importantly, businesses can trade.

To those of you yet to jump on the digi-train, do not fear, it is not too late. Never has it been more important to adapt and grow as a business to ensure that you come out the other end stronger than ever.

I am not going to waste your time with big words or facts and stats that don’t mean anything to you – but what I will do, is share my 5 top tips to entering the unknown…the shallow end.

1.      Talk to someone who can help you wade through the unknown, give you some tangible and useful advice, and most importantly – a game plan that works for YOU!

2.      You do not need to put all your eggs in one basket, and you don’t have to get it right or make all the decisions immediately. You can - just like life - adjust, fix and change where needed and necessary.

3.      You have a story to tell, no matter your industry, don’t be generic, make it yours and talk to YOUR customer. (nope, your target customer is not everyone!)

4.      Strike a pose. Get some exciting and quality photos/videos of your products, business and your team! Content is King, this is how your customers with engage with you…it will always be money well spent I promise!

5.      Don’t be afraid of what could go wrong and think of what could go right. Think of the opportunities that could arise from stepping outside your comfort zone – be brave, there are only possibilities that can come from joining the digital side.
